Summer Bridge Zoom instructions for selected Students

Welcome to Ortho! We are so excited to host you for a virtual Summer Bridge. We hope that this experience launches you into a successful start here at Ortho. You will get to know your teachers, peers, and members of the school community, all while completing a project that introduces you to the type of learning we do here at this medical magnet high school. We can’t wait to learn with you! Please see this flyer for an overview of what we will be doing during this time. You will also receive a phone call and an email will be sent to your parent's email with the same information handed out on 7/29 and attached to this announcement. The program will run weekdays from Monday, 8/3 to Friday, 8/14. Students are expected to be on Zoom from 8:30AM to 12:00PM. Short breaks are scheduled throughout the day. See you next week!

Suggested Reading for Summer 2020

Ortho's English teachers have a suggested reading list for you this summer. Normally, there is a required summer reading assignment for each grade level, but due to COVID-19, we have modified the assignment into suggested reading for personal enrichment as you head into the next grade. The attached PDF includes links to a PDF of each book, so no need to buy the book unless you want to.

Also please feel free to reach out to Ms. Hollis (our school librarian) via email ([email protected]) or Schoology message if you need ideas for reading or any help accessing books!

UPDATED Final Clearance For Students

Vipers, please follow the updated final clearance schedule to return your textbooks and other materials. In keeping with the state and local mandates for physical distancing, the school will be hosting a drive thru style return of materials. Students and parents are highly encouraged to come.
Seniors are now scheduled for Thursday, June 4th and Friday, June 5th from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Please follow the schedule and directions on the attached flyer for drive through and walk-up service.
Clearance activities include:
· Return of all textbooks and Library materials
· Refunds from the Business Office from Senior Package
· Refunds from Grad Nite
· Yearbook pick-up and purchase (Seniors Only)
· Senior Gift/Keepsake pick-up
· Pick-up of Cap and Gowns (Pending arrival of our school order)
Return of school issued technology (Chromebooks and Hotspots) will take place at Diploma Pick-up on Monday, June 15th (A-L) and Tuesday, June 16th (M-Z). Final payments for fines, and obligations will also take place at that time.
